A dedicated team of 16 charity fundraisers from merseyflow successfully completed a challenging seven-mile gruelling trek up Scafell Pike, raising over £5500 for a good cause.
Late on Saturday, 2nd August, the team of 16 started their Scafell Pike Sunrise Charity Challenge, reaching the summit at dawn on Sunday morning.
The funds raised will benefit merseyflow’s adopted charity, Halton Haven Hospice, which provides free specialist care to people in Halton and surrounding areas facing end-of-life or life-limiting conditions, as well as support for their families.
The merseyflow team inspired both colleagues and customers, with a total of £5500 raised, which includes a generous contribution of £4,500 from Merseyflow.
Helen Williams, Marketing Manager at merseyflow, was part of the team tackling the highest mountain in England. Helen said: “We’re incredibly proud of our team for taking on this demanding challenge made even more challenging due to the extremely poor weather conditions, all in support of Halton Haven Hospice.
“Their determination, combined with the generosity of our colleagues, customers, and the wider community, has helped us raise a fantastic amount for a charity that provides vital care and support. We’d like to thank everyone who has supported us and donated to this amazing cause.”
The hospice needs to raise over £2.6 million annually to cover its operating costs, with only half of this amount funded by statutory sources. Rising living costs further strain its resources, making donations essential for its continued service.
Tina Robinson, Fundraising Manager at Halton Haven Hospice, said: “We’re so grateful to the merseyflow team for their incredible effort and generosity. Taking on Scafell Pike to support the hospice shows true dedication, and the funds they’ve raised will make a real difference to the patients and families we care for.”
