7th June 2021
Longer opening hours for merseyflow’s Walk-in Centre and Call Centre
The merseyflow Walk-in Centre and Contact Centre will be open to customers for longer from Monday 7 June 2021.
The extension comes after several months of closures and reduced hours as a result of Covid-19 restrictions.
Customers will be able to visit the Walk-In Centre Monday to Friday from 9am – 7pm, and Saturday and Sunday (including bank holidays), from 9am – 6pm.
The merseyflow contact centre will be taking enquiries on 01928 878 878, Monday to Friday from 8am – 8pm, and Saturday and Sunday (including bank holidays) from 9am – 6pm.
There are still some eligible Halton residents who haven’t paid for their renewal following the extension of the payment window for those people whose plans expired during lockdown. Merseyflow is encouraging these customers to update their accounts using its website www.merseyflow.co.uk, or by calling its contact centre.
If eligible Halton residents make crossings on the Mersey Gateway or Silver Jubilee Bridge with an expired plan they will need to pay for each crossing, or risk receiving a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).
Halton residents who do feel they need to attend the Walk-in Centre in person to pay for their renewal are being asked to make sure they bring the correct documentation – their driving licence, a current council tax bill and their V5C form – with them to avoid delays and unnecessary journeys.
In line with government recommendations, there have been a number of changes to the Walk-in Centre’s operations:
- visitors may have to queue outside at busy periods due to reduced building capacity
- strict social distancing requirements will see a limited capacity placed on the Walk-in Centre, with a limit of three customers allowed inside the building at any one time
- the centre is asking customers to pay using credit or debit card wherever possible to help limit the amount of contact between its staff and customers
- anyone planning on visiting the Walk-in Centre must follow 2m social distancing guidelines, wear a face covering (unless exempt), and use the installed hand sanitiser stations when appropriate.
Neil Conway, Chief Executive of merseyflow, said: “Our Walk-in Centre and Contact Centre have been operating on reduced hours for some time now due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We will continue to follow any guidance from the UK Government and public health bodies and are pleased to be able to return to our usual opening hours to help more of our customers who are renewing their plans or paying for journeys.
“There are still a number of eligible Halton residents who need to pay for their renewal and update their accounts now that the payment deadline has passed. We are hopeful that the longer opening hours will encourage these customers to take the appropriate action to continue to benefit from their discounted journeys.”
Customers paying for crossings can do so at www.merseyflow.co.uk, or download the merseyflow Quick Pay App. Halton residents, or Blue Badge holders whose discount plans have expired, are being encouraged to beat the queues and renew online at merseyflow’s website or call its contact centre on 01928 878 878.
