Busiest month ever recorded as traffic volumes across the River Mersey in Halton continue to grow
Five junior sports teams in Halton are celebrating after winning merseyflow’s Team Spirit competition.
The competition to win five team sets of fully numbered and branded junior sports kits up to the value of £1,000 was open to local Under 14s teams.
After a fantastic response, the appointed panel of merseyflow judges whittled it down to choose the five lucky winners who best showcased ‘teamwork’. These teams are: Beechwood Gems U8s Girls Football Runcorn, Illuzion Morris Dancing Team Widnes, Kingsway Amateur Boxing Club Widnes, Runcorn Saxon’s Foundation Football Team and Weston Point Hybrids U11s Football Team Runcorn
This is the fourth year that merseyflow has run its Team Spirit competition, which aims to support local clubs that help young people in the region access sports to improve their physical and mental wellbeing.
Neil Conway, Chief Executive of merseyflow, said: “We’re proud to support local sports and give back to our community. We know that junior sports teams are self-funded and rely on donations to cover day-to-day running costs and equipment, so we’re keen to show our support and recognise the fantastic work they do to provide kids with an outlet to have fun, stay active and motivated.
