Mersey Gateway and Silver Jubilee bridges – toll charges update
The Mersey Gateway Crossings Board* and Halton Borough Council have submitted recommendations to Halton councillors with details of proposed changes to toll charges and scheme details for the Mersey Gateway and Silver Jubilee bridges
If approved by councillors, this will see toll charges rise on 1st April 2025 along with changes to the Local User Discount Scheme and a rise in Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) rates.
For more details about this recommendation please visit the Mersey Gateway website or click on the link to view the Halton Borough Council Board papers.
No final decisions have been made yet, but it is Halton Borough Council, not merseyflow, that sets toll charges for crossing the bridges. Merseyflow operates the tolling system on behalf of the Council.
If there is any change in toll charges registered customers will be notified by email or post at least 30 days beforehand.
*The Mersey Gateway Crossings Board is a special purpose vehicle established by Halton Borough Council with the delegated authority to deliver the Mersey Gateway Bridge Project. It operates as a commercial (though not-for-profit) organisation on an arm’s length basis.
