Halton Haven to enter new decade with £2,000 boost from Merseyflow

A local Halton charity will be entering the new decade with a £2,000 boost thanks to fundraising by merseyflow staff.

Halton Haven Hospice is using the money to help fund the essential support and care it provides to its patients and service users 365 days a year.

Merseyflow staff raised £2,000 over the year through holding sponsored walks, runs, dress-down days and raffles – an amount which was then doubled by their parent company emovis. The merseyflow team is going to continue to raise funds for Halton Haven as its adopted charity throughout 2020.

Kevin Matthews, Grants Trust and Gift Aid Manager at Halton Haven, said: “We’re incredibly grateful for the generosity of the merseyflow staff in supporting the hospice. The fundraising work that merseyflow has done for us over the past few years has amounted to over £28k, which is incredible.”

Neil Conway, Chief Executive of merseyflow, said: “We’re very pleased to be working with Halton Haven as our chosen charity for 2019. The Hospice provides a vital service for the community and we know how important fundraising is for the Hospice’s staff to continue providing the best possible care and support for its patients and their families. I’d like to say a big thanks to our staff for their support throughout the year and we look forward to working with Halton Haven in the new decade.”

The Hospice provides specialist palliative care, completely free of charge, to people from Halton and the surrounding areas who are living with life-limiting conditions. The goal of this care is to achieve the best quality of life for patients and their families.

Each year Halton Haven needs to raise more than £1.2 million to meet its annual running costs as it receives only 50% from statutory sources.
