Coming soon: Merseyflow app to be upgraded to deliver full website features

Web/App upgrade

Hundreds of thousands of drivers who use the Mersey Gateway and Silver Jubilee bridges will soon benefit from a major upgrade to the merseyflow app.

The update, launching soon, will fully align the app’s functionality with the merseyflow website for the first time. This will enable all customers, whether they have a pre-pay or a pay-as-you-go account, to use either the merseyflow website or the app to register for discounts, manage their accounts or use a pay-as-you-go option. The upgrade will also introduce Apple Pay and Google Pay.

The enhanced app will allow customers to use either the merseyflow website or app to:

  • Register, update and manage their account and payment plans directly
  • Apply for discount schemes, including the Local User Discount Scheme (LUDS) and the Blue Badge Holder scheme
  • Set up a pay-as-you-go account, where there are no discounts, but payment can automatically be taken from a bank account without having a pre-pay merseyflow account
  • Pay for one-off crossings.

With the new app update, existing app customers who have previously set up a profile will now be moved on to a pay-as-you-go account when using either the merseyflow website or the app to access their account information.

Neil Conway, Chief Executive of merseyflow, said: “We are delighted to bring this app update to our customers. By uniting the full functionality of our systems across the merseyflow website and the merseyflow app, we aim to make paying for crossings as straightforward as possible. With the new payment options of Google and Apple Pay, we are making it even easier for customers.”

The merseyflow app is available to download for free on iOS and Android devices. Customers will be notified through merseyflow via the app and website, as well as merseyflow’s social media accounts, once the update is live.
