Mersey Gateway and Silver Jubilee bridges – toll charges update

24 October 2024

Mersey Bridge

Halton Borough Council has approved plans to consult on an increase in toll charges on the Mersey Gateway and Silver Jubilee bridges from April 2025.

For more details about this recommendation please visit https://merseygateway.co.uk/april-2025-toll-charges-consultation-approved/.

No final decisions have been made yet, but it is Halton Borough Council, not merseyflow, that sets toll charges for crossing the bridges. Merseyflow operates the tolling system on behalf of the Council.

If there is any change in toll charges registered customers will be notified by email, post or SMS at least 30 days beforehand.

*The Mersey Gateway Crossings Board is a special purpose vehicle established by Halton Borough Council with the delegated authority to deliver the Mersey Gateway Bridge Project. It operates as a commercial (though not-for-profit) organisation on an arm’s length basis.
